Creole-Italian Cuisine

A culinary landmark in Mid-City New Orleans

Liuzza’s on Bienville street has been continuously operating since 1947. A historic building originally constructed from the steel of world war two battle ships, the locale is home to the finest Italian Creole cuisine in New Orleans.

The classic menus has remained intact for 76 years and features staples such as the Eggplant Napoleon, Beet Salad, and a variety of pastas with the our famous Red Gravy. The Frenchuletta which was invented and trademarked decades ago, is another staple. The award winning sandwich is often imitated but never duplicated. We introduced a true Brooklyn style pizza to the menu, as well as the must have Liuzza’s original wings.

A recent renovation features a prohibition era bar as well as trattoria style outdoor dining.

What a great spot! Their food is amazing. Great job! The bread pudding was freaking amazing. Their fries and onion rings were so very good! Their frosty mugs for beverages were ingenious. I recommend this for everyone.

On top of 5-star service, the food was 5 stars as well!!! We got a meatball poboy, the rice and beans, and the Italian salad! Everything came out perfect, and I can't wait to make it back to New Orleans and eat here again!

Their Frenchuletta is one of the best sandwiches in the city! It is a spin off of the muffaletta and is so good, I am bringing one back to Chicago on request of one of my brothers!

We have been here many times. The place is an institution in New Orleans for decades. Have never had a meal I didn't like. The dining room seems like you are eating in an Italian cafe. Service is great, food is terrific and I love the ambiance.
